How good is this? ... 7 days ago BRK announced the stimulation component of the  completion process was going to take 7-10 days. So that makes today's announcement at the " top range of guidance"

The next  and final stage of the completion process is scheduled to take  14-20 days.... hopefully that will also come in at the  top end of guidance.

Just to add a bit of colour as to what is coming over the next few weeks for those that are not familiar with proceedings as such. Now that  well stimulation  of staged perforation, fracking and plugging has been successfully and safely achieved,  the frack crew and equipment is rigged down , can leave the site  and  the cleanup of the well beings.

This involves setting  up the coiled tubing unit and drilling through the 25 or so plugs ( usually made of composite material) to the toe of the well to access the whole  perforated wellbore.



Once the plugs are drilled out the well cleanup process begins, where debris stuck to the casing walls is literally scraped out , circulation fluids are pumped down the hole to flush all the well garbage out and  well tools determine the well integrity before the flowback commences.

It is important to note that fracking involves pumping huge amounts of water and sand into the formation, where the high pressure water  fractures the productive zone out from the well bore and the sand keeps those cracks open to allow the movement of hydrocarbons from the formation into the wellbore and to the surface. During the initial period of the flowback, apart from the considerable amount of water returning , there is also a large amount of sand flowing back into the well with the fluids. The fluids can also contain oil and natural gas. This part of the flowback is important  to manage the sandy flowback fluid and keep the well open and running, so it can normalize and more freely flow oil and gas over time.

During this period of fluid  and sand return, all the collected material is run through  centrifugal sand separators  where the majority  of the sand is separated  out of the fluid and is then sent to on-site frack tanks which trucks will collect.  The fluid is then sent through separators which separate any oil and gas from the water and remaining sand, which collects at the bottom of the separators and is retrieved with the water.

Once the well has " cleaned up", where the amount of sand returning has significantly tapered off, oil and gas production has increased to a level where it is stable and predictable, the well is now effectively in production mode and the IP24 " number' can be ascertained. Typically this is when the maximum flow rate is achieved, but the production manager may tinker with the choke valve which can sometimes result in an increase in flow rate.

It is the above process which is expected to take between 14-20 days as guided by BRK, and there may not be any oil/ gas flowing back with the sand and water in the early stages of the cleanup/ flow back. But hopefully, fairly quickly as the sand rate reduces, there will be a good rise in oil and gas flow, which hopefully will stabilise at 1632 BOEPD
