NSW in terrible strife 643 Covid cases WED 18 Aug, page-128

Lockdowns and compliance are two different things and unfortunately locking the gates after the horse has bolted will only work so much. Very similar to trying to evacuate our allies after the Taliban has taken over! Very difficult to do!

The main problem is the infectious in the community not sure what it was today but it was very high 300+ a couple of days ago and that just says it is going to get much bigger.
Not being in NSW it is difficult to know what their on the ground restrictions look like in practice. But at a presser two days ago Gladys was talking about how people still need to be able to go to Harvey Normans to buy white goods! This makes and the fact that it keep leaking out into other states , very hard to control boarders if the State responsible does not take the lead.

I think as disastrous as this NSW response has been it can and will get a lot worse, the impact on the health system is the big concern and not sure when the tipping point will be but that is what tipped other countries into social chaos!

Unfortunately the main response we will see from Gladys and Scott will be to focus on hyping the vaccine roll out in NSW with pressers and marketing!
