Hi (illiquid)
They only need the World Bank and the like to get the project started.
SDL have already stated a few times that they have had interest from these funding groups to get involved in the project.
The way I would see things panning out would be iron ore mills, off take partners getting involved to get iron ore supply for the next, perhaps 50 years with out having to keep doing deals to get iron ore for their mills.
This would save them billions of dollars over the next ten to twenty years.
It is worth it to an iron ore mill putting up a Billion or two to be sure of supply in the future with out even taking a share in a company.Even if the deal was for the iron ore being sold to them at 5% below market price.SDL's profit on iron ore production is one of the very best in the world.
Regards
Westcott.
