See last sentence in chilavert's extract above. In my limited understanding it's saying that, using this technology it's challenging to mass produce the cubits, which is vital for commercialisation. Archer's technology does not appear to be hampered in the same way. I think archer refers to this on page 10, last bullet/para of its corporate presentation dated 25 March 2021 (see extract below). As suggested in the extract, there are some other competing room temperature technologies which archer considers that it has a competitive advantage over. As far as I am aware:
- one uses vacuum chambers and lasers (more challenging to integrate into lap tops, smart phones etc)
- some don't need -270c for all elements of chip functioning but they do need -270c for other elements of chip functioning (challenging to integrate into modern devices in the average office).
- some have come up with 'hot cubits' (not -270c but not far off so not really competition for archer)
- the -270c products appear to be focusing on cloud based access. Some inherent limitations. Not sure this really competes with archer tech which I think is proposed to integrate with current computer hardware.
The above is my honest opinion, however it's based on limited knowledge of the subject and what I have managed to gleen from archer releases and the interwebs. Not meaning to bag QB, just my understanding of how the technology compares. QB does appear to be further ahead on their development path.
