News: ALD Deals of the day-Mergers and acquisitions

Aug 23 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1130 GMT on Monday :

** AB Volvo said it had struck a deal to buy Chinese JMC Heavy Duty Vehicle Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangling Motors Co. Ltd, for about 1.1 billion Swedish crowns ($125.7 million).

** Pfizer Inc PFE.N said it would buy remaining shares of Trillium Therapeutics Inc TRIL.TO it does not already own in a deal that values the cancer drug developer at $2.26 billion.

** Vonovia's VNAn.DE chief executive urged shareholders of Deutsche Wohnen DWNG.DE to tender their stock as there would not be another sweetened bid for the real estate company.

** Britain's competition regulator said it has started its investigation into whether business information provider S&P Global's SPGI.N $44 billion purchase of London-based peer IHS Markit Ltd INFO.N would hurt competition.

** Sainsbury's SBRY.L shares surged 14% after a report that private equity firms could launch bids worth more than 7 billion pounds ($9.6 billion) for Britain's second biggest supermarket chain.

** Clariant CLN.S has bought the remaining 70% of Brazilian personal care company Beraca it did not previously own, the Swiss company said .

**Spark Infrastructure Group (SKI) agreed to a A$5.2 billion ($3.71 billion) takeover by a consortium that includes private-equity giant KKR & Co Inc KKR.N and two Canadian pension funds, sending its shares to their highest in more than four years.

** Australia's top fuel supplier Ampol Ltd (ALD) made a NZ$1.97 billion ($1.34 billion) takeover bid for New Zealand peer Z Energy (ZEL) , valuing it at a 24% premium to its last closing price, the companies said.

** Woolworths Group (WOW) , Australia's biggest supermarket chain, said it is teaming up with Uber Eats UBER.N for same-hour grocery deliveries to meet the unprecedented demand centered around speed and convenience amid the pandemic.

** Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri FCT.MI is talking to Leonardo LDOF.MI about a possible acquisition of the defence group's OTO Melara unit, a source familiar with the matter said.

** Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP BIP.N has received 65.6% shares of Inter Pipeline Ltd (IPL) IPL.TO in its takeover bid for the Canada-based pipeline operator, it said.
