Remember when ANZ in a similar situation gave the full number of shares to all who applied ?
There was one big difference. ANZ stated in the prospectus that they reserved the right to accept 100% of applications. NAB stated they WILL scale back.
You can't state something in a prospectus and then do the opposite. As much as we retail shareholders would like a bigger allocation, the instos would certainly legally challenge a decision by NAB to increase our allocation. It is not in their interest to see their holdings diluted at the $21.50 level when the market price is currently around 25+% more.
