Yes there will be down days, nothing goes up indefinitely but what has occurred is a truly transformative play in buying MLC (which is a really great company). No they did not get it for free but they bought it when markets were much lower at a hugely discounted capital raise share price. It will ultimately be seen to have been bought very cheaply.
