I know bugger all about chemistry but I think this is the situation:

They state recoveries of 97% were achieved through leaching of the ore (in 60 minutes, room temperature, normal pressures, using 33.7% feedstock from the current DSO operation)

This leached product can then go through an electro winning process for conversion to EMM (electrolytic manganese metal)
Where in previous process by CSIRO they got to 99.95% high purity product

Or I think (Locky ... help needed) it can be converted to a sulphate product ...MnSO4 for use in lithium ion batteries

I hope this is correct because if it is ... it's a beautiful thing
