In a lot of circumstances if you sell something you do not own you could end up being charged with a crime.
Why should the law be different for some one selling a car they do not own for $30,000 to someone selling shares they do not own for $30,000.
You could argue that many of the small transactions in ASM are nothing to worry about but are these trying to force the market down artificially.
