I like your thinking. We’ve seen how little effect the escalation in the oil price this year (and now the BHP deal) has had on the WPL share price.
Its purely a sentiment thing.....unfortunately WPL is just a friendless carbon villain.
So if you can’t beat the ESG crowd - and I’m coming to the conclusion that you just can’t - you’ve simply got to join them.
What Meg needs to do is spend a couple of $mill on a ‘Woodside Energy Transitional Masterplan - a 10 Year Journey to a Green Future’.......then get around peddling and spruiking ......the headlines would follow :
“Woodside Energy - Transitional Masterplan Excites Investors”
”Towards 2030 - Generational Change at Woodside”
“Woodside utilises BHPP cashflows to fund pivot to Green Energy”
The ESG crowd would totally lap it up (even if it’s completely unachievable)....and the sp would be 50 bucks by Christmas !
