I think so as well Katy. What you have said makes sense & has for some time.
What has popped into my mind recently after reading your post, is not just EU & USA, but Asia. China has the biggest DKD T2 & India coming in second. Japan another. They are keen on screening their population 40yo & over, but this is hitting younger ones harder now. It’s not all about being unfit or your BMI, it’s viruses.
The Merck deal with J&J that happened a little while back for Invokana, obviously there is a huge market there.
Our patent coverage is pretty amazing in Asia as well. Granted in China & Hong Kong, pending in India. With COVID-19 infections, we will probably see a lot more patients who are diabetic with kidney disease as well. It isn’t independent with chronic diseases & long COVID-19 is going to be a burden on Health no matter where you live in the world.
