When I worked for Santos in the Cooper basin, they operated the Beach leases anyway. To my knowledge nobody actually did any hands on work employed by Beach. The Beach logo was on many wells, as a JV partner. So it wouldn't necessarily cost Santos any more for labour hire. Just a paperwork excercise. To my mind it would make sense for STO to acquire Beach. As you say Sirsenor a lot of Synergy exists between the 2, and if STO are cashed and looking, then BPT with their modest SP, assets and cash would be a target......lesopeso. (What are they doing having so many assets, cash and such a lo SP anyway...?)
