I don’t understand why you keep saying AGL generators are not generate any profit, they do! Hundreds of millions in fact, if we were running them on losses like you said they’d be closed long ago. AGL is a business, not a charity. Coal generators still supply majority of Australian electricity demand and renewables aren’t there yet. We need electricity and we need reliable electricity.
If one or two coal plants suddenly close tomorrow, electricity price will skyrocket and outages will happen. Wake up and be realistic!
Soon Liddell will be decommissioned followed by other this decade, electricity price will return to higher level. Please don’t complain why the bill is so high.
