Raising $400m in equity based on MC today of $923m suggests selling around 30% of the company (in round figures: issued shares around 1,800,000,000 + 800m at 50c =2.6b shares on issue. 800m = 30%
I would hope they would not dilute that much so perhaps they may think that they can raise the capital at a premium so the dilution is kept to around 25%
At least the benefits of a partner is a further de-risking of the whole process. I am a great believer is having some % of something, rather that 100% of nothing. This is a great story which is only going to get better over the next 12-18 months
But Dace, the question I have to ask you is: How did you expect them to fund an $800m mine & treatment plant? It was a given that they would have to go to the market at some point in time to raise the capital. You cant go from a 1c stock (actually I think it got to around .004c) to being perhaps the preeminent Li mine in America without just a small amount of dilution along the way
