I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I normally purchase a stock based on what I discover about its fundamentals, potential upside in relation to current news events, management, and I even consult a chartist or two when my crystal ball or tea leaves aren't working. I also check its history relative to performace against the ASX200. As a shareholder of both ESG and BOW (holding 75K in each since last april), I've checked the percentages of both companies. In the event anyone is interested, here they are for the past year:

    ESG: 1 month: -95% 6 months: 74.17% 1 yr: 84.56%

    BOW: 1 month: 23.39% 6 months: 209.26% 1 yr: 434.18%

Different companies, I know - and at different stages in their developement, but needless to say, I am very much happier with my investment in BOW. I've no plans to jump the ESG ship yet, but at the risk of raising the ire of my fellow shareholders, if things don't pick up a little over the next month or two, I expect many investors will be lamenting they didn't park their money elsewhere, particularly in this current stock market rally.
