as I have previously noted we don't actually know how much the surgical group put in, only that they were the "lead" investors in the 110 mln placement.

Do they have enough clout to push the board? Hard to do when SI owns just under a 5th of the company....

Anyway here's my headline and lead paragraph:

"Itescu risks destroying legacy"

As every parent knows, there comes a time to entrust your child to the care of others more qualified and skilled to move them through the next phase of their development. Failing to do so risks stunting their potential rather than maximising it. It must be very hard for a brilliant scientist who has spent years developing ground breaking stem cell technology to consider relinquishing control to those who may be better suited to moving the technology through its next phase. But in the world of business, "helicopter parenting" can be just as detrimental. Is it time for Silviu Itescu to entrust his legacy into the care of those who can move it forward to his ultimate goal?
