Oh boy Chops, it always challenges you to get a rational thought out. Do the math, 40 years mine, largest REE mine in the world, REE demand to skyrocket, all the worlds major economies looking at their supply chains and trying to deal China out of it. Three years was hyperbole, you get that I trust ?
And there's the rub. The pandemic and China's rise has meant that the those at the top of the food chain, the 0.001% of the world who are the richest and most powerful, now see the future 50 years as a turning point starting pretty much now.
It is now time, more than ever, to ensure resource security, especially before China gets their hands on it. It might not be a commodities supercycle, but some are calling it a resource security supercycle (note to self ..... coin a better term for that one).
And IA changing tune, they're doing it already. Did you notice that IA didn't turn up in person to the community meetings down south ? Why, cause they don't want to admit they will allow this mine. Didn't want to face the music. This was the issue that propelled them into government. Pathetic really.
As an aside, did anyone see GBB's inane comment that they didn't turn up cause it would cost these politicians half their annual wages ? If that were actually the case, either they make bugger all income or it costs a lot to drive to the south. Go figure. I kinda though the leader of the government might get paid a little more than a labourer.
