..'What’s the point of all these dividends....?

To the patient investor they're cash flow, income, return on investment, yield in a world of zero/negative interest..
Traders who hope to make a quick buck will usually come unstuck chasing dividends but those who purchase quality stocks, little bits at a time, counting in years, if not decades, not in hours, days, weeks or months, will reap the rewards of their patience.
Over time markets and quality stocks always rise. Price paid is irrelevant in the long term and the stock pays for itself becoming free-carried and a builder of wealth.
Short termism brings such pain and can't possibly be worth the heartache attached to panicking over every days' share price movements.
