Japan has over 40% fully vaccinated, population 126 Million, EU 70%. Australia, under 40%, population 26 Million. What this shows is that Australia is way behind the other nations, why? He is playing politics only. He doesn't care about the average Australian, only the upcoming election.

There was no talk of opening up at 70% vaccination rates previously because the modelling hadn’t been done.

Are you actually implying we shouldn’t start opening up once we reach 70%? What exactly is your issue with that?
