Hi WPpar20. We all give it SQ (subcutaneously). I think it may be intramuscular in horses as they don't have much fat, but we definitely all give it the same way in cats and dogs as a basic vaccination. Scruff of neck, into the fat. Not too sure why it developed a reputation as being given IM in small animals. If you look at the Cartrophen.com website it says in the dosage section that it is to be given subcutaneously
