For interest, I read about 40 customer reviews on the Product Review website re HwB.
Quite a few do not give a location, but of 26 that did:
10 were from Greater Melbourne Vic
1 was from Central Highlands, Vic (perhaps Daylesford)
7 were from Greater Sydney NSW
1 was from the Hunter Valley, NSW
1 was from Riverina, southern NSW
2 were from Canberra, ACT
2 were from southeast Queensland (perhaps the Gold Coast)
I was from Perth WA
1 was from 'wheatbelt' east of Perth WA
There were none in this sample from South Australia or Tasmania, the two states with the smallest population. Nor were there any from the distant Northern Territory.
The HwB warehouse is in Maidstone, inner western Melbourne so good to see it's where the largest customer base may be.
A standout comment was that for these personal shoppers, a hamper was a 'lockdown gift', often for someone's mother.
This begs the question as to how much business will decline once lockdowns end, but VintageCrop's suggestion that the vast percentage of hampers are sent by businesses not the likes of you or me engenders a bit of confidence, unless Oz has a widespread recession.
The optimistic view is that once individuals have used HwB, they'll at least occasionally use it in the future.
With the population ageing and more of us living alone when we're in our 70s (thankfully not the case with me yet), it's a fact that loneliness in Oz society is on the rise, and not just due to 'the virus'.
If people on their own don't have social outlets like going to Mass and enjoying a cuppa afterwards in the Parish hall, the local bowling, cricket or footy club, RSL club/ EDV ALH Group or other hotel, cafes/restaurants with friends, bingo, bridge, knitting or for males a Men's Shed, relatives are likely to consider that they 'need cheering up'. An unexpected hamper is a good way to achieve this.
