OK.... just hear me out before I get shot down..... ;-)
Way back in February 2021, Auroch announced they would investigate the Lithium potential in the pegmatite at Nepean.
AOU commented that they had contracted the services of Peter Spitalny to coordinate the investigations. I reached out to AP recently asking if there would be a follow up to this announcement, and was told the same thing he mentioned in a recent interview, that AOU had entered into an NDA to investigate lithium potential and could not make comment (at the time), but would so at a future date.
For the budding geologists out there, go do some research on Pegmatite and Lithium. My geologist friend in WA tells me that pegmatite's are the primary source of lithium (yes, many of us already know this), and its highly likely that the Nepean pegmatites contain lithium because Nepean is only 5km to the south Londonderry Lithium containing pegmatite. Is it just nearology? Unknown as yet. But we should know soon.
Now, maybe, just maybe, the reason the cone of silence has gone down around the Lithium potential is because they are investigating this in conjunction with the Nepean Deep drill program. Would make sense right? The have to drill down through the pegmatite (500m) to see if there are Nickel sulphides underneath, why not at same time, use a Lithium expert to investigate if these pegmatite's contain Lithium?
Hey, I might be reaching, but I thought worth throwing this theory out there. There may be no Lithium. But we do know the Nepean Deep drills is underway, on target and on schedule. We also know AOU has entered into an NDA with a major player in the Lithium space. If there is Lithium it would make sense to partner with someone in this space who can perhaps fund the extraction and off takes giving AOU free carry on any Lithium deposit. Imagine if there is Lithium (in the pegmatite layer), and Nickel Sulphides (below the pegmatite layer)...
