cmb, doesn't it lend itself that if the market had confidence in the dollar, gold wouldn't be anywhere within earshot of $1000 to start with?
IMO $1000 is a milestone that some people don't want to see happen.
While I'm sure 80% of the planet wants it to happen, they aren't the ones holding 80% of the backing.
Maybe by the end of the year. I imagine it will go to oversold in $990's for a while ...
It's either that, or a Eurodollar benchmark.
