I often think it is even worse than that. Shares that get lots of mention on the forums may often be the ones to stay away from.
To the extent that I am in the process of investigating another share at the moment and in my "plus" column in the analysis is the fact that this particular share has received little or no interest on ANY of the forums I visit.
