I can't help it if you choose not to read past the first word, and therefore missed the entire point of the post.

As I explained, this statement is technically correct, because their write off may positively affect future earnings. Not the opposite, which is what you were arguing.
In fact that is the exact intention of the write-off, sacrificing some earnings right then (in FY21) in order to preserve and grow them in future years, because the brand has not been negatively impacted by discounting, perceptions of poor quality etc.
