I disagree. I don’t think that many “traders” had much to do with the fall in the SP, although there would have been some. A better strategy would have been to sell the day after the ex SPP day, and apply for more at $1.44 like I did. Many of the WLE fans will have taken the opportunity to top up and take advantage of the excellent dividend coming up shortly (including those only just obtained in the SPP) and for SMSFs, the Franking credits returned to them as cash. The dividend on the SPP shares, given that interest rates are virtually nil, are too attractive to knock back. I would suggest that the selling will come AFTER the cum dividend date. Personally, I don’t think the $1.50 level is particularly significant, as loyal Wilson fans will expect that like a soufflé, the SP of WLE will once again rise and be pleasing to the palate!
