The advantage of this shallow diagonal angle is that you can mine 1,000metres of high grade gold quartz lode (1.128Million Oz worth today $A2.67Billion) and only be ~300-400metres from the surface, or 2,000metres (~2million Oz worth today $A4.9Billion) of high grade gold quartz lode and only be ~500-600metres from the surface.

With Alexander River, the Bruno Shoot runs for 500+metres at the surface before the Loftus Mackay Shoot west-dipping drops only 100metres from the surface. Highlighted in Yellow with blue border.

Siren Gold effectively has more than 1/2 a km of high-grade surface gold to mine at AR. (excluding the area at the top of AR between the Bruno Shoot and Bull Shoot.

This is exactly the same for Blackwater next door, and Fosterville in Victoria.

As usual, very informative, thank you GH. I am right in assuming that depending on the depth and grade and being that the shoots are atop a hill, that horizontal shafts could be used to intersect the better grades. Meaning that they can get to depth but do so from lower down the mountain, reducing cost and time??
