That's exactly right. It's much cheaper, faster and easier to punch a horizontal mining shaft with a slight decline in the top of a hill, than a hole straight down vertically, then horizontally to hit the high-grade gold as you see in other underground gold mines.
Especially the 500-600 metres of high-grade gold at surface in the Bruno shoot (east dipping) highlighted in yellow below.
