In a carbon taxed world AGL will be paying a price for carbon. But it should at most only be on the amount of carbon generated from its operations as a gentailer, and not on the total combined carbon output from electricity generation. Because it is passing on the energy as a product to the end consumer, who are the ultimately responsible for the carbon footprint. So AGL which supplies 40% of Australia electricity, should not be responsible for 40% of total carbon emissions from the generation of these energy. This is simply not scientific or logical.
