Yea it's easier said than done when you're buying stocks that are trending up. Timing is everything because they can fall just as quick as they rise. I also have a load of indicators that have to line up before I will touch it which helps a lot. Then theres learning how to read the market depth and on top of that a lot of the time it comes down to plain gut feel. Then theres larger time frames that have to line up as well, so it has to be a perfect set up in my eyes or I potentially could lose a lot of money. If it doesnt have the goods, I wait - simple as that.
Your story about some of you're stocks moving and others going sideways is a familiar story amongst fundamentalists. The market is totally irrational and you could do you're head in trying to rationalise it.
