Enough people sufficiently believed the rumor to buy and raise the SP about 5% in an hour.
Then in the next hour, people who didn't believe the rumor sold about half a million shares, most likely for at least a 5% profit, forcing the SP price back near what it was per-rumor.
The rumor seems to have been without foundation.
Join the dots.
ASIC could easily find out whether the rumor monger was amongst the sellers. They should look, but won't.
I have no proof to support any allegation of inappropriate action - the post of the rumor may have been entirely well meant. But retail investors beware of both down and up ramping on this board - it is littered with it!!
