Novavax has applied to the TGA quite a while ago, but apparently they still need to submit a final data package. The TGA has said that they are able to do an ongoing assessment, so they looked at data as it came in. Considering the success of the latest trial/s, it sounds like as soon as this final data package is lodged it'll go ahead. It has been said that it may closely follow approval in the UK, which could happen any minute. There have been no suggestions of a failure to be approved, so it's just the bureaucratic cogs turning (although in this case I'm glad they take their time, when it comes to the safely of 10s of millions of people!). One question is whether there would be any announcement regarding Novavax manufacturing in Australia prior to approval, likely 'pending successful approval'.

In terms of the Christian Porter issue, only the mRNA approach to market is linked to him. I would imagine Novavax would go through and be announced by Greg Hunt.
