This new paper doesn't present any new data of their own. It's again another commentary on the FTO space and the potential of inhibitors as a line of therapy.
I'd say this is a team seeking grants/funding to pursue their own FTO research. Which would explain the glaring omission of 'CS1'. As @RaceOncology has pointed out previously, if you want funding to solve a problem - you're not going to mention the fact that the solution has already been found.
I couldn't help but smile at this line though...
