in some areas when you mention Oz - it's a no go zone.
I've met heaps of young travellers (not here - but, in Asia) - they were all travel savvy - and, they all would love to go to Oz - but, two things stopped them ---------- the cost was too high - and, they knew about the scams
also - world cruising - these people are connected- and, whilst Oz gets some visitors ------------ the vast bulk aren't interested -
is it the distance? --- no - it's the administration - that, combined with distance - and, it goes into the 'pass' basket.
What's also interesting is that as much as I dislike America - I do like a lot of yanks personally - but, one thing comes clear - they are individually more trustworthy than Aussies -------- I cringed to learn that years ago - from a yank who I call a dear friend and he took a long long time to tell me the stories - but, I found that he was right.
A lot of people know it - it gets around. People like Aussies - the one's overseas - not the drunken loud mouths - the others - are pretty likable --- but, there's a heap of shonks in the business world
