Ausnet is 32% Singapore Power and 20% China State Grid. Not to mention the slew of foreign investment banks that make up balance of 92% of the total shares. Would the country be any worse off with 100% Canadian owned where the largest shareholder of Brookfield owns only around 2.5% of the company. source 2021 Annual Report.
considering the concentration of Australian electricity assets in Chinese control (electranet, Powercor, SA Power networks, Ausnet, ) a bit of diversification is a good thing IMO.
