I guess in the 'olden days' a miner with hand tools and a candle would have crawled his way up, down and along that .34m, 6oz/tonne vein and pulled out quite a few thousand tonnes of 5 oz/tonne+ ore. (and may have followed the other two 20g/tonne veins as well I guess).
HEG will have to narrow vein mine it - the thing is - the bulk of the gold is in that 180g/t intersect - so even if they're doing a 3m wide stope at 20g/t (i.e. 180g/t @.34 diluted to 3m) they're still going to pull out the 30,000 ounces. If the other two 20g/t veins are within that 3m range then they'll minimise dilution. (they didn't give the full log of the drill intersects so we don't know how far apart the three high grade hits are).
The other thing to consider is that with a nuggety system, the odds are that the drill has hit the 'ordinary' bit and that there's more exciting stuff to be found on mining.
