Very astute Copper
I did a few calculations and used Shortman for the data on shorts and:
From 31st August to 9th September there was an increase of around 11m shares shorted
From the same span of days, the shares transacted were around 57m
That is 19% of all sales during this period were short selling sales. This is quite a high proportion and seems to be a major influence on the static to declining share price.
The next puzzle is to understand the motive of the shortseller(s)
