Today's share price gain = 25c from yesterday's close.
1,886m shares issued * $0.25 = $471.5m attributed to news of Qantas selling its land for $300m more than the anticipated value of $500m.
This is what happens in bubbles. Nobody even bothers with back of the envelope calculations to check reality anymore.
With a balance sheet that will be weakened with fewer unencumbered assets Qantas won't be able to rely on low interest debt raising anymore. If the money that they have won't take them through to sustainable profitability (which it won't, based on my ability to use a calculator) then the next survival plays will be a capital raises 2022, further diluting the almost 2 billion shares that are currently issued.
