Will that not depend on your buy in price for NMT?
Say you bought at 80cts and that was I think the NMT value at time of spin off, then I’d think your base cost would be the full 20cts Widgie value as you’ve made no profit only transferred existing asset out.
However say you bought NMT at 40cts then you’ve a 50% gain at time of split off so your base price for Widgie may be 10cts, that’s roughly how I think it might be calculated ie linked to your average purchase price in NMT, but I’m no accountant, Loop.
