An informative experience that I have had has been to hand a wily, white-haired old broker who drives a brand new Bentley and owns a riverside house on half an acre in Peppy Grove a draft prospectus for a exploration company that owned the hottest mineral property I had seen for some time. He opens it up and only looks at two things: the track record of the directors, and the capital structure of the company. If both of those don't stack up, he either drops it in the bin or hands it politely back. The project to him is almost irellevant. He's only interested in the deal and the exit. I don't think he cares at all about fundamentals and he's got zero interest in a chart. For him it's all about the people involved, how they operate, their track record, and the timeframe and leverage in the stock.
