it really makes no difference when the consolidation takes place. the dollar amount you own will remain the same. the dilution is the same.
the benefit of a consolidation would be to remove the volatility attached to shares trading below 10c or 20c so that the minimum bid/ask must be in 1c increments instead of 0.1c/0.5c.
no real point in consolidating until after the CI/rights issue. otherwise they will need to do one now and another one after. better just to do the one after.
