Hi extell,
If Biota was a vaccines maker we would be in trouble, but Relenza is an antiviral.
Vaccines need to be produced every year to combat the ever changing flu virus and the swine flu virus will be no different.
So governments around the world will keep needing the antivirals like Relenza to have a first line of defence till a new vaccine comes to the market that can protect its population for the yearly flu virus or virusses.
The western governements will still make sure that they have enough Relenza in their stockpiles for any new virus or a mutated swine flu virus in the future.
And with more resistance cases towards tamiflu we can only expect that Relenza is going to sell like hot cakes in the next coming years and that Lani is going to take over after that.
Unless something bigger and better comes on the market but we have not seen that happening yet.
In the meantime its still early days with the vaccine and only once a large part of the population has been exposed to this vaccine, will we know if this vaccine is really safe and good enough to keep the swine flu away.
Good luck
