@diligent there could have been a small migrant population of refugee Germans, both Germans and Jewish-german in Mexico at the time.Now most likely well integrated. I remember reading about Frida Kahlo the lady artist with the one-brow look having had a German father (photographer) - and I began a history of an artist (never finished) whose parents (Czech and Austrian) migrated at the end of the 19th century to Mexico - so there must have been a German-speaking community there . . . . something I mean to research - later.
