I love that my youngest who is married to a Chinese woman can distinguish what is personality and what is cultural habits. It means he can navigate what is sometimes a testing relationship with some level

isms and people who need to control are a disturbance to a gentle life.

But some 'isms' developed from another country, can be rather disturbing to the person from that other country, so a visitor that country needs to be careful with his/her speech!
