Deakin worked through those, without success, just like the other players in the space trying those combinations. But they have stuck with BNNTs and now have enough confidence in their research and prototypes to come out from the shadows and start the final leg to commercialisation.
Details of the Deakin research papers covering the history of their research into Li-Sulfur batteries (including the pre BNNT research) are in the latest announcements. Probably a good idea for people familiarise themselves with them.
