respectfully i don’t think it would make sense for a bank to do that, only to invest in / provide the warehousing facility
otherwise why would a bank cut a cheque to someone which it could provide the exact same capabilities?
For example, CBA have offered pay in 4 under their credit cards for a while now, so why would they bring on a BNPL to do it for them.
A fintech / neo bank however, well that’s a different story as their point of difference is that they aren’t like a traditional bank.
All in all, I think Banks make enough money providing credit facilities to BNPL, and I doubt they would pay someone a slice of their pie to do what they can do themselves
JP Morgan is a perfect example of this, they provide warehousing and investment out to other BNPL, but have their own BNPL service exclusively to their card holders
