It's easy to make broad comparisons between your run of the mill WA goldie and the likes of POD, but PGM analysis is a bit different.

Take a look at Ivanhoe's Platreef resource - the circled inferred section at 1g/t cut-off looks remarkably similar to POD's doesn't it.

I can't say I know whether POD has published different cut-off grades, but I do know there is sizable lengths of drilling with much higher grades. POD's strategy is to prove analogous resource style to the South African deposits

Ivanhoe has the benefit of drilling over 1.2km deep with an inferred resource covering 6-7km. POD has only included 100m deep in its resource to date.

Ivanhoe has the detriment of having to build a shaft all the way down to mine it. POD is looking at open pit.

Metal prices will recover. POD was 85 cents with 1.39m ounces and now it's 37.5 with 2.2m ounces.

There's a lot more to this story - PGMs are complicated but well worth digging deeper.

And while we're on the topic of cut-off grades, this is the JORC statement from one of POD's WA "competitors" - they don't use a cut-off grade at all, justified with the assertion that cut-off grade isn't required because everything will be mined Come on man
