People do throw the term "conspiracy theories" around all the time in a derogatory manner, but they don't have a clue what they are talking about

People lying about how much tax they cheat out of the government
These are all conspiracies
When there is one person in an agreement of any sort who is denied full knowledge of what the others know in that agreement -- bingo you have a conspiracy
The public have been lied to from just about everyone so they are all victims of a conspiracy whether they like it or not but most are too ill informed to see the writing on the wall
