NGK are definitely competitors. They compete vigorously with Corning Co. in ceramic substrates for catalytic convertors for vehicle exhausts. (No. 1 and no. 2 in the field)Also ever heard of NGK spark plugs...thats them.
The improvements they boast of are a bit of a worry, but the 90% utulization rate seems a bit spurious.
