Yes and no.
The law is whatever the ccp says it is on the day. So while that may be true, it is not necessarily true given some particular events. Not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that china is simply more unpredictable and inconsistent in its application of law than most companies choose to see. Hence some of the "challenges" that have been arising.
And its not all just "anti-china fake news". A lot of money has been lost over there by all sorts of foreign companies for all sorts of dodgy political reasons. And yes, these are same reasons that other companies make money. ie the situation is inconsistent and unpredictable.
